Words

The way Declan says these words or nicknames makes me smile everytime and I just don't want to forget them.  I don't want to correct him as he will say them "right" soon enough. See if you can guess what the real word is!

Heymock

Nocchio

Bunder

Bizzy

Peeyou (this is not about something stinky!)

And a couple easy ones:

Get my "tool" Mommy!  (S's are hard and he loves to cook!)

Jumpoline

He also has been making up his own words talking to Evan in "Baby".  Makes me crack up so that's totally encouraging him!

WARNING, if he asks you to read a Clifford book in Spanish or to tell you about Goldilocks, just get Grandma Connie on the phone!  He loves to read every book 2 or 3 times in a row right now and read some of the "words!"

Dear Evan, You're 3 Months Old Today!!

My Dear Evan!

Every single day I thank God for you and for these moments with you.  I am so lucky to get to stay home with you for a few extra months and stare at your face, get you smiling and giggling!  You make diaper changes the best, pretty much laughing all the time.  And your biggest smiles and belly laughs happen in the bath with your big brother Declan.  He loves having you as a friend in the bath and tells you about all his toys, his snake Grandma Sue hates and will keep you warm pouring water on you!

You are getting crazy wiggly and strong!  Pretty much afraid to leave you on a couch/bed anymore... you will roll over anytime you don't want tummy time and you are kicking your way out of my master swaddles and scooting all the way across your crib!   You have found your hand and chew it thru your blanket or get it out.  I kept trying to get you to like a pacifier but to no avail, your hand is your choice and that's nice for us not always keeping a pacifier on hand.  Just can't exactly take that away some day easy but you don't do it all the time.. just falling asleep or waking up!

Two of my favorite pics of you...  Golden Hour with Sarah's fancy camera!
And Driving with Daddy!

Life was crazy when you turned 2 months with me working, our house on the markets and getting close to moving to Oakdale, so I decided you'd get a 3 month letter.  But your two month Dr. stats were:

Weight: 12.5 lbs  50%
Length:  23.5"     50%
Head:   16.25"    85%

You are becoming Mr. Social and love to be near one of us wherever you are. You don't cry or get mad, but you just start talking so loud and cute until one of us pays attention to you and then you are irresistible and impossible to leave!  You have recently been smiling at Croix boy lots too and love when we have you pet him. You laugh at his kisses but I'm not a fan!

Ahh... Double down nap time...Thank you boys for this gift every day this week!

Declan and you are sharing your Mario room and he just loves having a bunk mate.  He always asks and looks for you first when he wakes up.  He definitely isn't quiet when you are sleeping but doesn't seem to phase you and vica versa.  You have been a good sleeper sleeping thru the night for a few weeks!  Though the last three nights you have liked saying hello to me at 230 am... I'm hoping tonight you want to wait til 5 or 530 again :)

My sweet little man, I love you for all that you are, and all that you're yet to be!

What I now know about moving

Our new home is feeling like our home!  Once the family was all in it, (for 3 days before Andy left on a work trip!) it was home and the things/surface don't matter.  (And after 40+ boxes... so so many "things" really, really don't matter!)

It was great to have 9 days from closing before we moved our belongings in. I know this isn't always possible for people, but if it could be, do it!  It gave us time to do a few of the projects we wanted to get started, and time to just feel the house out and envision where we'd want things, how basic routines and the flow of the days would work.

And even though I know Declan is young, I think seeing our old house getting packed and empty, and the new house getting our stuff has helped him to know we are staying here. He has asked for the "old house" one time, but it was passed over fast.

I hope to not move for 20+ years, but if I do again, I would beg Andy to hire packers and movers. Moving is stressful and emotional enough, but it was a huge blessing to have the moving company service.   They are professionals, nothing broke, and one semi-trip for them would've been 4 U-hauls, 50% more boxes and dented walls!  And Declan thought the truck was cool, so there's that!

But now that the unpacking has begun, I should have gotten rid of much more before.  In June and July, before the house was on the market, I did go thru every room and closet and made 4 trips to thrift stores, but it wasn't enough.  However, it was helpful noting everything then, and now just a few months later can say "farewell" faster.  Sarah recommended the The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.  I thought I put the whole book on my kindle but it was just a summary... but for the sake of time, that was good.  I got the gist for purging... "Do we use it?  Does it bring joy? If no, thank it and farewell!"   The basement will be sorting zone for donation or a future 5$ table/fill a bag sale!

I know I am a person who likes to-do lists and getting things done, but I have had a few mini-panic attacks in our rooms, things not in order and we need in boxes.  But nothing takes as long as it seems if you just do it.  Spending time worrying and feeling overwhelmed is not worth it in the case of boxes, or anything for that matter.  But in all areas of my life I am working on not worrying and not being in control, and this moving thing is definitely helping that!

I also know I don't want to wait to have the fun projects done... Having the Hutch house on the market and fixing things there still, I want this house how I want it so we can enjoy it.  I think we know how to be better homeowners now too.  We will work hard to keep it up as well as the amazing previous owners.

Pinterest is amazing... I always knew I'd like it and stayed away from it to not have another site to suck my time, but because I want things beautiful sooner than later, a high school friend is helping me Design my Dream Life!  She helped save me time and found all sorts of pins for me with our ideas, gave me great suggestions and opinions already.   So whether you are moving or just need a helpful hand to get things done in one room or five, I would recommend calling on someone with passion and a design eye!

I will be excited to share some projects I want to get done with Meghan's assistance in our family/dining room, office, and some finishing touches in our master bedroom in the next few months!

I have been busy settling in, but enjoying time so much with my boys. I haven't had time to miss Hutch yet, but I still know that is coming and that is ok.  I will love this life here, as life is here to love.

Oakdale Fun

Today we have been in Oakdale with our belongings, and everyone sleeping here for one week! (Well, Daddy was in Cananda for work already for a few nights!)  Before there was a little bit of back and forth driving and sleeping at Schwedler's so Declan could attend daycare and I could unpack, but then we had a full weekend with Daddy before Andy left for Canada for his first work trip.

We discovered our first park about 4 blocks away!  Declan was apprehensive first at the sand bottom as none of Hutch's parks have sand in the playgrounds but he named it Sandy Park and we'll be back with our sand toys next time!

Declan loves the Cattails at the nature park across the street!

Evan loves watching his big brother play in a box and me unpacking!

We attended storytime at Oakdale library and it was a great time watching Declan read, sing, play and interact with kiddos.  Evan loved the songs and Declan laughed when I had Evan doing the actions!  Evan was also Mr. Popular by all the preschool kids looking at the cute baby!

On a neighborhood walk with Croix we found a 2nd walkable distance park by chance!  It has been dubbed Ambulance park because the wheel area is an ambulance... But then Declan took a "slide" down the thinner metal stairs and was skinned good. I'm afraid he won't want to go back to "Ambulance Park"

And at least Declan, Evan and Bouncer are having lots of fun with the boxes I'm unpacking... stickers, puzzles, trucks, slides, shapes and paint!

We also made it over to the Oakdale Farmer's Market to meet Jen & Addison and play at Walton Park too!  It was by the Police Station (which Dec thought was cool of course counting all the police cars... "There's two Police cars Momma!!! "  "Try again Buddy.."  "1,2,3,4,5, 6 Mommy!"  Well there were 7,  but he was close ;) )   But it was just one of those days where I felt like he grew up before my eyes playing by himself so well, his imagination at work and the conversations he has with me make the days go too fast!

Addison Photobombed our selfie slide pic just in time ;) I tried another but they move too quick :)

Evan napped almost the whole time in the stroller so no Evan pics :(
