Our hilarious, ever-moving, sporty, creative, spirit-filled, mathematician, panda loving little man, YOU ARE SO LOVED!
Though I have SO MUCH TO SAY, I have to start with Pandas, my child... for real, it was like the world needed to become Panda obsessed because you were first but I'm still convinced you love them more than any other animal and know more about them than anything else on the planet... well, besides maybe Minecraft that your favorite YouTuber teaches you about. I still love the pictures and videos of you being the Red Panda and running away threatened because I asked you to pick up socks or unload the dishwasher. Oh the pretend fear inside you doing a little chore cracks me up every time!!! 😂😂😂 But truly, you are becoming so responsible and helpful and mom appreciates it so much and I am crazy proud of you! You have wanted us to win you a Giant panda so badly at Valleyfair, the amount of pandas in your minecraft builds is infinite and you can spot a minimum of five of them when we are out in stores/shopping!
Evan, your brain is a treasure for so many reasons. Math and STEM is your jam and you are GREAT at them, but you have really found your groove in reading graphic novels, Magic Tree House and I Survived books on your own. Though you still prefer me or Dad to read you an outdoor survival type novels at night.
Your comedic timing continues to get better every week. You put smiles and fill everyone with belly laughs. Your 1st-grade teacher Ms.DeMartino (and YAY for a normal school year!!) even texts me some of your top moments where I know she must be hiding her smile behind her hand. But the best is after a night of cuddling where I caught wiffs of your stinky armpits, you told her, "Smell my armpits Ms. DeMartino!" Hahahaha!
"I am metal Mom, and your bed is a magnet" is your new theory as you still sneak in to start the night, and "sleepwalk" in the middleofthenight to cuddle me :) But you and I agree, it is the best bed in the house! I love what your brain thinks up from calling Mexico, the Underworld and Canada is Space. You create the best games and worlds with Finn and sports with Abdisisa... baseball/football/kickball my personal fav!
As the wise second child, you have found ways to not let us forget about you. You are ever-dropping everything, and leaving your dinner plate at the table just to hear the sound of your name.
And you just love to be unique, different, and do the opposite of the world... Always continue to do that buddy! BE EVAN! Walk slowly to enjoy the world, moving fast when we all are relaxing, keep your voice loud and heard, and wear all your clothes and shoes backward.
Your birthday MONTH has been and will continue to be full of celebrations! We had 4th of July cabin fun with Purkat cousins doing Jenga woodburning, assembling my Friends Central Perk Lego and lots of races and parading and swimming. CanCan wonderland will be a blast mini golfing today! KICK BUTT (You are becoming a great golfer as well... don't seem to love it as much this year, but you'll come around ;) We are sure of it!) And next week with Finn we'll go see the Twins and maybe fondue!?
